K-State Falls to Wichita State in Non-Conference Matchup

K-State couldn’t hold off a second-half surge from Wichita State, falling 84-65 on Saturday night at Koch Arena. The Wildcats led 33-29 at halftime, but the Shockers scored 55 points in the second half, shooting 63% from the field to take control.

Sophomore Macaleab Rich had a standout performance for K-State, scoring a career-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three-point range. Junior Brendan Hausen added 13 points, all from beyond the arc. Despite their efforts, K-State struggled overall, shooting 36.2% from the field and just 6-of-15 from the free-throw line.

With the loss, K-State moves to 6-5 on the season. The Wildcats will open Big 12 play on Monday, December 30, hosting No. 19/20 Cincinnati at Bramlage Coliseum. Tickets are available at kstatesports.com/tickets.
