Kansas State has announced a change in leadership for its men’s basketball program.
Athletics Director Gene Taylor said the university is parting ways with head coach Jerome Tang, effective immediately. An interim head coach will be named in the coming days.
Taylor said the decision was made in the best interest of the university and the basketball program. In a statement, he cited recent public comments and conduct, along with the overall direction of the program, as not aligning with the school’s standards for supporting student-athletes and representing Kansas State.
Tang had led the Wildcats since 2022 and guided the program through multiple postseason appearances.
Kansas State will begin a national search for its next head coach immediately. More details about the interim leadership are expected soon.
