K-State Rallies Late to Beat No. 17 Texas Tech on Road

K-State erased a six-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat 17th-ranked Texas Tech, 65-59, on Saturday in Lubbock. The loss snapped Texas Tech’s 19-game winning streak.

The Wildcats earned their first road win over a ranked opponent this season and improved to 10-9 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech fell to 19-1 and 6-1.

K-State placed four players in double figures, led by Tess Heal with 12 points. Gina Garcia, Taryn Sides and Jordan Speiser each scored 11.

After trailing early, K-State closed the second quarter on a 14-3 run to take a 30-25 halftime lead. Texas Tech regained momentum in the third, but the Wildcats responded late. Back-to-back three-pointers by Speiser and Garcia put K-State ahead for good.

K-State outrebounded Texas Tech 46-20 and scored 14 second-chance points, helping seal the upset.
