K-State River Valley Extension Names Brooke Ohlde as New Horticulture Agent Serving North Central Kansas

K-State River Valley Extension announced Brooke Ohlde as its news horticulture extension agent, effective March 16. Based in the Clay Center office, Ohlde will serve residents across the district, including offices in Belleville, Clay Center, Concordia, and Washington.

Ohlde, a north central Kansas native, has most recently served as the Washington County 4-H Youth Development program manager working closely with the community. She earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a horticulture major from Kansas State University. After graduation, Ohlde worked with Loma Vista Nursery in Ottawa for seven years.

With Ohlde’s experience, she can provide research-based education on crop production, natural resource conservation, and landscaping.
