Kansas State volleyball defeated Northern Colorado in straight sets Saturday at The Thunderdome Classic, winning 25-21, 25-20, 25-21. The Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season while the Bears dropped to 2-6.
K-State recorded a season-high 12 service aces, the program’s first double-digit ace performance since 2023. Setter Ava LeGrand led with four aces and 28 assists, while Shaylee Myers added three aces and a team-high 15 kills on .481 hitting.
In the opening set, K-State used a 9-3 run, including two aces from LeGrand, to pull ahead. After trailing in the second, the Wildcats rallied late with a 6-1 closing stretch. Five players contributed kills in the third, led by Aniya Clinton with four.
Freshman Cadence Lundgren made her first start and led with six blocks. K-State out-blocked UNC 10-5, securing its fifth sweep of the season.
