K-State Vet Med ROCKS Summer Camps Return July 28–30 to Inspire Future Veterinarians Through Hands-On Learning

Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine will host its 2025 Vet Med ROCKS summer camps July 28–30, inviting students from elementary through college to explore veterinary medicine through hands-on activities and workshops.

Organized by the Vet Med Recruitment and Outreach Club (Vet Med ROCKS), the day camps provide an interactive and educational experience led by current veterinary students, faculty, and staff. Participants will learn about animal care, veterinary procedures, and career pathways in the field.

The schedule is divided by age group: high school students entering grades 9–12 will attend on July 28, middle school students entering grades 6–8 on July 29, and elementary students entering grades 3–5 on July 30.

Callie Rost, assistant dean for admissions, said last year’s camps drew strong interest, with 56 elementary, 101 middle school, and 99 high school and college students attending in person. The camp aims to inspire the next generation of veterinarians in a fun, immersive setting.
