K-State volleyball claimed the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Classic title Friday with a 3-0 win over Nevada, extending its season-opening streak to 12 consecutive set victories — the longest such start in program history.
The Wildcats (4-0) won 25-19, 25-15, 25-13, holding Nevada (1-4) to a .145 hitting percentage and out-blocking them 9-1.
Senior setter Ava LeGrand was named Tournament MVP after recording 33 assists in the final match. Shaylee Myers led K-State with 15 kills on .652 hitting, while Aniya Clinton added 10 kills. Jordyn Williams had five blocks, and Symone Sims led with eight digs.
K-State is one of three Big 12 teams without a set loss this season, alongside Colorado and Iowa State.
The Wildcats now head to the Thunderdome Classic in Santa Barbara, California, facing UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 11 and Northern Colorado on Sept. 12.
