Kansas State women’s tennis begins its fall season this weekend with a full schedule of tournaments running through November. The Wildcats plan to play in up to 12 events, including three Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) competitions.
The season starts Saturday, Sept. 20, at the ITA All-American Championship in Cary, N.C. Junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and sophomore Zhanel Rustemova qualified for doubles, while Chogsomjav also enters singles pre-qualifying. The pair is ranked No. 79 in the ITA preseason doubles poll.
Later this month K-State will split squads between the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the Husker Invitational. October events include the Cyclone Invitational at Iowa State, the ITA Central Regional at Oklahoma, and the Thunderbird Invitational in Arizona.
The Wildcats may also compete in three International Tennis Federation tournaments before finishing the fall at the ITA Central Sectional in Texas and the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship in Orlando.
