K-State’s Lewis Added to National Two-Way Player Watch List

Donte Lewis of the Kansas State Wildcats baseball has been named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award watch list.

The sophomore is one of 49 players on the list selected by the College Baseball Foundation and one of six players from the Big 12 Conference recognized as a two-way player.

Lewis plays outfield and also pitches for the Wildcats. He has made two starts on the mound this season. His longest outing came in a 5-3 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball, when he pitched 4⅔ innings. Lewis has recorded nine strikeouts in 6⅔ innings.

At the plate, Lewis is batting .250 with a double, one RBI and two stolen bases.

The award is named for former Washington State Cougars baseball standout John Olerud, who played both pitcher and first base in college.
