K-State’s Sibbing Earns Big 12 Weekly Soccer Honor

Kansas State sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing has been named Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week after helping the Wildcats open the season with two wins.

Sibbing, from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, is the fourth K-State goalkeeper to earn the award and the first since 2023. She recorded shutouts in both matches, leading the Wildcats to their first 2-0-0 start since 2018.

In Thursday’s win over Oral Roberts, Sibbing made two saves on six shots. On Sunday against Portland State, she stopped one shot to secure her second shutout of the season, setting a personal best for single-season shutouts.

Through two games, Sibbing is 2-0-0 with three total saves, a perfect save percentage, and no goals allowed.

K-State begins a four-game road stretch Thursday, August 21, at South Dakota. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
