The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced that its KanDrive traffic app has earned the Best ITS Service Award from ITS Heartland, recognizing major enhancements made through the U.S. 83 Smart Corridor project. The award highlights KDOT’s focus on delivering real-time, user-friendly travel information to Kansans.
Recent upgrades to the KanDrive app include integration with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, and Siri, allowing drivers easier access to traffic updates. The app also now features a public reporting tool for users to share road condition updates, an Oversize Load Tracker to assist with routing large vehicles, and Road Weather Information System (RWIS) data for localized weather alerts.
