Kansas 4-H will celebrate its commitment to community service during the 48 Hours of 4-H event on October 12-13, marking the 11th annual statewide initiative. The event encourages 4-H clubs to plan and complete a community service project within a 48-hour timeframe, aligning with the 4-H pledge to serve their club, community, and world. Past projects have included planting flowers, cleaning parks, collecting food and supplies for local agencies, and showing appreciation to first responders.
This year, Rock Springs Ranch will host a statewide project alongside the Live Well, Lead Well workshop on October 12. The service project will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch and the workshop. Registration for this event is open until October 8.
The event also provides a chance for prospective members to explore what 4-H offers, as the new 4-H year begins on October 1. More information and project registration are available online.
4-H clubs are encouraged to share their projects on social media using the hashtag #484H.
