Governor Laura Kelly announced Tuesday that $25 million will support 30 road and intersection improvement projects across Kansas. The funding comes through the Kansas Department of Transportation’s City Connecting Link Improvement Program (CCLIP), which helps cities improve sections of state highways running through their communities.

The selected projects are scheduled for the 2027 and 2028 fiscal years. Under the program, cities with more than 2,500 residents must contribute local funds, with a 25% match required from cities over 100,000. These local contributions expanded the program’s total value to over $39 million.

CCLIP projects fall into three categories: Surface Preservation (SP), Pavement Restoration (PR), and Geometric Improvement (GI). SP projects, funded up to $400,000, include repairs like overlays or joint sealing. PR and GI projects, eligible for up to $1.5 million, involve major pavement work or improvements to road layout, such as adding turn lanes or enhancing safety at intersections.
