Kansas Agriculture Day, observed on March 18, highlights the state’s largest industry, employer, and economic driver. The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) is marking the occasion with a day at the Capitol. In addition, Governor Laura Kelly has proclaimed March as Kansas Agriculture Month.
To celebrate, members of the From the Land of Kansas trademark program and partners from Kansas ag organizations joined KDA at the State Capitol. They shared Kansas-made products with legislators and leaders, emphasizing agriculture’s $88 billion impact on the state’s economy. Kansas leads the nation in grain sorghum and wheat production and ranks among the top three states in cattle and calf production.
Throughout Agriculture Month, Kansas honors the dedication of farmers and ranchers, recognizing their role in feeding both Kansas families and people worldwide.
