Kansas Child Care Providers Can Receive Up to $3,600 for Health Insurance in Final Year of CHIRP Program

The All in for Kansas Kids Child Care Health Insurance Reimbursement Program (CHIRP) offers reimbursements of up to $3,600 per year to help Kansas child care providers cover the cost of their own health insurance, according to Thrive Allen County.

Eligibility:

  • Professionals: Full-time or part-time in-home child care providers, preschool/daycare classroom educators, or facility directors (support staff not included).
  • Location: Must be a Kansas resident working in a licensed child care facility in Kansas.
  • Insurance: Must be currently enrolled in, or actively seeking, a Marketplace, private, or employer-sponsored health insurance plan with out-of-pocket premiums.

Priority Consideration:

  • In-home child care providers
  • Providers earning under $45,000 per year
  • Providers actively seeking health insurance coverage

Due to funding cuts, this will be the program’s final year.
