By: Ryan Duey

The Kansas Flute Society will host its annual Fall Flute Festival in Clay Center on Sunday, October 13th in the Martyn Snodgrass Auditorium at Clay Center Community High School from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. This festival is open to all flute players eighth grade and up.

Daniela Thrasher, Clay Center Schools Director of Bands, said the Kansas Flute Society is a group of flute players that offers people the opportunity to learn and play different flute-inspired music.

Thrasher said check-in for the festival will begin at 1:30 p.m., and the afternoon will include workshops and more for flute players of all levels.

At 5:15 p.m. players will host a community flute recital in the auditorium. The recital is free and open to the public. Thrasher said the recital is a way to have flute music heard in the community.

There is a small registration fee of $10, for non-Flute Society members. Early registration for flute players is available at www.ksflute.org.
