Commissioner Vicki Schmidt is offering assistance to Kansas communities affected by recent wildfires.

Schmidt said the Kansas Department of Insurance wants to hear from anyone experiencing problems with insurance. She said the agency is prepared to help residents navigate the recovery process, file claims and resolve insurance-related issues.

The department is also working with the Kansas Division of Emergency Management to coordinate outreach efforts and stay in contact with local officials in affected counties.
