Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced today that the Kansas Department of Insurance (KDOI) is partnering with the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) and the Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) to host events across the state in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, which falls on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
From June 9–13 and on June 20, staff from these agencies will offer presentations in Kansas communities on how to recognize and prevent financial scams and exploitation targeting older adults. The full schedule and event locations can be found at insurance.kansas.gov/weaad.
