Governor Laura Kelly announced a $2.3 million investment in digital skills training and workforce readiness programs to help nearly 50,000 Kansans. The Digital Opportunities to Connect Kansans (DOCK) program, led by the Kansas Office of Broadband Development, will partner with 13 organizations to help residents make the most of the state’s expanding high-speed internet access.
The DOCK program aims to increase access to digital tools and improve workforce skills. Highlights include:
- Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas will launch a pilot digital literacy program to meet local needs for digital education.
- Tree Top Security in northwest Kansas will offer cybersecurity and digital skills training to small businesses to protect data and improve operations.
- Eagle Nest will provide digital literacy training to justice-involved women, domestic violence survivors, and women facing poverty in Cowley County.
- The Liberal Area Coalition for Families will teach parents how to ensure children’s online safety and support their digital learning.
The program will expand digital access and job training across all Kansas counties.
