A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday to mark the opening of the new Kansas National Guard Joint Force Headquarters at Forbes Field. The facility brings together the Kansas Army and Air National Guard in one centralized location, designed to enhance coordination and operational readiness across the state..

Sen Jerry Moran, who participated in the ceremony, stated, “I am committed to the mission of the National Guard and will continue to support projects that further improve the Guard’s mission. Thank you to General Michael Venerdi for having me to celebrate this new facility for the Kansas National Guard.”

In addition to its modern technology and upgraded capabilities, the headquarters includes a permanent memorial honoring those who lost their lives in service.
