The 9th annual Kansas Opioid and Stimulant Conference will take place Tuesday, December 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Wichita. The event brings together professionals and community members committed to developing a coordinated response to the state’s overdose crisis and addressing ongoing challenges related to substance misuse. Conference sessions will cover evidence-based practices and provide resources focused on emerging drug trends, prescribing, prevention efforts, public safety, treatment, and long-term recovery.

This year’s conference features keynote speakers Tiffany Jenkins and Jimmy McGill, both known for using their personal experiences to support others on the path to recovery. Jenkins is a recovering addict, comedian, bestselling author, and the creator of the social media platform Juggling the Jenkins. Through humor and candid storytelling, she discusses addiction, mental health, and recovery, helping reduce stigma and offering encouragement to individuals and families.

McGill, who overcame years of incarceration and a long struggle with addiction, now works to influence drug and reentry policies. His story continues to motivate communities and support recovery initiatives.

The conference is hosted by KDADS, KDHE, DCCCA, and the Kansas Prescription Drug and Opioid Advisory Committee.
