The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) is preparing to launch the Kansas Home Rebates Program to help Kansas residents reduce energy costs and make their homes more comfortable. This program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, will provide Kansas with $105.6 million for energy cost savings for low- to moderate-income households.
To set up the program, the KCC is working with HORNE, a professional services firm, on design, application development, and implementation. The KCC is also holding engagement sessions with stakeholders, including utility companies, contractors, state agencies, and community groups, to ensure the program fits Kansas’s specific needs.
For the program to begin, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) must approve the program design and application, due by January 31, 2025. Kansans can expect rebate funding to become available in 2025 after DOE approval.
Meanwhile, residents can visit the KCC website for updates, information on how to join the engagement sessions, and answers to common questions about the program.
