Kansas Soybean Celebration Debuts January 31 in Salina, Replacing Longstanding Expo with Awards and Networking for Farmers

Starting in January, Kansas soybean farmers will have a new way to celebrate agricultural successes. The first-ever Kansas Soybean Celebration is set for January 31 in Salina, offering an evening of awards, camaraderie, and special remarks for growers.

“We are starting a new tradition at Kansas Soybean with the creation of the Kansas Soybean Celebration,” event co-chair Brett Neibling, Highland, says. “We feel Celebration better serves farmers with a more central location while still providing top-notch education and entertainment.”

For over 40 years, soybean growers gathered each January in Topeka for the Kansas Soybean Expo. Organized by the Kansas Soybean Association (KSA) and funded by checkoff dollars, the Expo offered valuable insights on research, economics, weather, and more to help attendees plan for a successful year. To enhance outreach and better align grower events, KSA leaders decided to move away from the Expo format.

The new Kansas Soybean Celebration will take place following the Kansas Commodity Classic at Salina’s Hilton Garden Inn. The KSA annual member meeting starts at 2:30 p.m., followed by a social hour with sponsors and researchers. The Celebration begins at 4:30 p.m., featuring food stations, networking, awards, and a keynote speaker.
