On Monday, the State Board of Canvassers officially certified the results of the Kansas general election held on November 5. The certified results are available on VoteKansas.gov. The board, consisting of the Secretary of State, Governor, and Attorney General, reviewed and certified the results submitted by all 105 Kansas counties.
The 2024 general election turnout totals:
• There were 137,644 (10%) ballots cast by mail.
• There were 557,209 (41%) ballots cast advance in-person.
• There were 649,294 (49%) ballots cast on election day.
• The total registered voters were 2,031,132.
• The total voter turnout was 1,344,147 voters (66.2%).
The final step in the 2024 general election cycle will occur when the state’s presidential electors meet at noon on December 17 at the Kansas State Capitol to cast their votes for President and Vice President.
Schwab pointed out that while 2025 will have fewer elections, local elections will still take place, stressing the importance of staying engaged. This includes updating voter registration information and volunteering as a poll worker for municipal elections.
“These elections shape the leaders of our communities and influence our daily lives. Don’t wait four more years to get involved again,” Schwab said.
