Kansas State Names Kiewit 2024 Company of the Year for Commitment to Engineering Education and Student Success

Kansas State University’s Carl R. Ice College of Engineering has named Kiewit its 2024 Company of the Year. The award recognizes Kiewit’s commitment to engineering education and its high standards in the profession.

Kiewit, one of North America’s largest construction and engineering firms, was founded in 1884 and operates across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The employee-owned company provides services in various sectors, including transportation, power, building, water, marine, and industrial markets.

Kiewit has been a long-time partner of the college, most recently through the Engineering Leadership and Innovation program. The company hosts recruitment events, offers internships, and hires many K-State graduates.

With over 300 K-State alumni working at Kiewit, the company values its strong connection with the university. Kiewit will be honored during the college’s career fair reception on Sept. 25.

Kiewit Power Engineering president Kevin Needham praised K-State students for their talent and readiness, noting the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting engineering students and their careers.
