Kansas State University to Host 112th Cattlemen’s Day with Key Presentations, Trade Show, and Legacy Sale on March 7

Kansas State University’s Animal Sciences and Industry Department will host Cattlemen’s Day 2025 on Friday, March 7, at the National Guard Armory in Manhattan. The event will feature presentations from Allison Van Enennaam, Glynn Tonsor, and Dale Woerner. Van Enennaam, a UC Davis extension specialist in animal biotechnology and genomics, will discuss genetic modifications in livestock, while Tonsor, a K-State agriculture economics professor, will provide a beef industry economic outlook.

This marks the 112th Cattlemen’s Day, though the event will be held off-campus this year due to the demolition of Weber Arena. The 2026 event will return to the Bilbrey Family Event Center. The program begins at 8 a.m. with registration, refreshments, educational exhibits, and a commercial trade show. The trade show offers valuable networking and learning opportunities.

Lunch will feature smoked brisket, Cajun-spiced catfish, and Call Hall Ice Cream. In the afternoon, Woerner will present on new yield grade technology, followed by a research roundup by K-State ASI graduate students.

The cost to attend is $25 if paid by February 21 or $35 at the door. Students who pre-register can attend for free. For more details and to register, visit KSUBeef.org. The 48th Annual Legacy Bull & Female Sale will be at 4 p.m., and the Stockmen’s Dinner will honor Richard Porter on March 6.
