Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt is reminding residents, businesses, and insurance agents affected by recent severe weather in Wyandotte County, Johnson County, and Leavenworth County to contact the Kansas Department of Insurance if they run into problems with an insurance claim.
In a release, the department says it has been in contact with local officials in the affected counties and encourages anyone impacted by the storms to reach out if they need help resolving insurance issues.
“Severe weather in Kansas often means storm damage and insurance claims,” Commissioner Schmidt said. “If you have any questions about your insurance coverage after the storm or have an issue with an insurance claim in the coming weeks, please contact the Department.”
Residents who are having trouble with a claim can contact the department’s Consumer Assistance Division at 785-296-3071, email KDOI.complaints@ks.gov, or visit the department’s website at insurance.kansas.gov for more information or help with claims-related questions.
