Kansas ended January 2025 with total tax collections of $942.8 million, exceeding estimates by $15.9 million (1.7%) and increasing 1.5% from January 2024.
“While current revenues are in line with the estimates, it is important that we continue to focus on fiscal responsibility to ensure long-term financial health in Kansas,” Governor Laura Kelly said.
Individual income tax collections reached $500.1 million, surpassing estimates by $25.1 million (5.3%) and rising 5.1% from the previous year. Corporate income tax collections totaled $73.0 million, falling $20.0 million (21.5%) below estimates and decreasing 18.7% from January 2024.
Retail sales and compensating use tax receipts were $348.8 million, exceeding estimates by $11.8 million (3.5%) and increasing $4.5 million (1.3%) year-over-year.
