Kansas collected $548.2 million in taxes in February 2025, exceeding estimates by $121.9 million (28.6%) and increasing 5.1% from February 2024.
Governor Laura Kelly noted that while strong tax collections reflect a healthy economy, the state must remain fiscally responsible to ensure long-term stability.
Individual income tax collections reached $239.4 million, surpassing estimates by $149.4 million (166%) and rising 37.9% from the previous year. Corporate income tax collections, however, fell short at $16.3 million, coming in 18.7% below estimates and 22.8% lower than in February 2024.
Sales and use tax collections totaled $247.1 million, slightly exceeding estimates by $1.1 million (0.4%) but down 2.2% ($5.5 million) from last year.
