Kansas to Host First-Ever Statewide Rural Entrepreneurship Conference This June in Kingman

A first-of-its-kind conference in Kansas focused on rural entrepreneurship will bring people together from across the state this summer. The Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) conference is set for June 25–27 in Kingman and will highlight local businesses, community success stories, and strategies for building an entrepreneurial mindset in small towns.

The event is a collaborative effort between Kansas State University, K-State Research and Extension, Network Kansas, the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Quality Places Division, including the Office of Rural Prosperity and Kansas Main Street, and Thrive Kansas.

Unlike traditional conferences, CEC sessions will take place inside local businesses and venues across a four-block area in downtown Kingman, giving attendees a hands-on look at the local business environment. Participants will have the chance to network with fellow entrepreneurs, experts, and resource providers to find solutions and spark new ideas.

The conference kicks off with a pre-event performance by Yachty by Nature at the Kingman Historic Theatre on June 25. Keynote speaker Gustavo Ustariz of Main Street America will speak on June 26, followed by a capstone address from K-State’s Marshall Stewart on June 27.
