Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary David Toland announced that Kansas Tourism received national recognition for its Sunflower Summer program, which earned the Best Local Impact Campaign award at the 2025 eTSY Awards. The honor was presented during the eTourism Summit held April 22–24 in Las Vegas.
The 2024 Sunflower Summer program offered free admission to more than 200 attractions statewide for Kansas families with school-aged children. Nearly 500,000 tickets were redeemed, marking a 55% increase from the previous year. Tickets are available through the free Sunflower Summer app and can be redeemed on-site at participating locations.
The eTSY Awards, organized by Informa Connect, recognize creativity and effectiveness in digital tourism marketing. They honor campaigns that successfully promote travel and tourism through innovation and engagement.
With bipartisan support from the Kansas Legislature, the Sunflower Summer program will return July 12–August 3, 2025.
More details are available online or through the Sunflower Summer app.
