The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health is offering cost share assistance to licensed companion animal facilities to help cover spay and neuter expenses for cats and dogs in rural, unserved, and underserved Kansas communities.
Funded through state emergency animal shelter funding, this program supplements services provided by the K-State Shelter Medicine Program. Eligible facilities can be reimbursed for up to 75% of surgery costs, with a maximum of $4,000 per applicant.
Applications are open to facilities licensed through the KDA Animal Facilities Inspection Program and will be accepted until August 25, or until funds run out.
Spaying and neutering help reduce pet overpopulation and related health and behavioral issues.
Details and application forms are available at www.agriculture.ks.gov/grants. Submit applications to KDA.AFI@ks.gov.
