KDHE Release
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and local health departments are working together in response to a measles outbreak in southwest Kansas. As of March 26, a total of 23 cases have been identified in Stevens, Morton, Grant, Haskell, Gray, and Kiowa counties. No measles cases have been identified in Riley County as of this date.
KDHE set up a dashboard at https://www.kdhe.ks.gov/2314/Measles-Data to share up-to-date information with the public. They will update data every Wednesday.
Due to the highly contagious nature of measles, additional cases are likely to occur in the outbreak area in Kansas and in surrounding counties especially among those who are unvaccinated.
