The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) released it has named Ron Hall as its new Director of Field Operations. Hall brings nearly 45 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, and district leadership. Since 2016, he has served as the District Six Engineer in southwest Kansas and will continue to be based in Garden City.

Hall began his career in 1980 through KDOT’s Engineering-in-Training program. He later served as Equipment Engineer in the Construction and Maintenance Bureau and spent 28 years as Maintenance Engineer for District Six. As District Six Engineer, he managed budget shortfalls, ensured project continuity, and supported regional improvements through the IKE Transportation Program.

In his new role, Hall will oversee operations across KDOT’s six districts, focusing on highway maintenance, construction, snow removal, roadside management, and emergency response.

“It’s a great place to work,” he said. “KDOT is a family, and that unwavering support for each other is something truly special that you don’t find in most organizations.”

Hall and his wife, Chris, have eight children and 14 grandchildren.
