KDOT Opens Fall 2024 Applications for Cost Share Program, Distributing Over $146 Million Since 2019

The Kansas Department of Transportation is now accepting applications for the fall 2024 round of its Cost Share Program. Since its inception in 2019, the program has allocated over $146 million to Kansas communities. The Cost Share Program offers financial assistance for construction projects that enhance safety, maximize state funds to boost overall transportation investment, and improve the transportation system in both rural and urban areas. This marks the 10th round of funding for the program.

There will be an informational webinar to discuss the application process and attendees will be able to ask questions at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21. You can register here.

All types of transportation projects are eligible, including roadway (both state and non-state systems), rail, airport, bicycle/pedestrian, and public transit. Projects should offer clear transportation benefits and not qualify for other KDOT programs. This grant round has a total budget of $6 million, with a maximum award of $1 million per project.

Applications must be submitted by September 19. For more details and to access the application, visit KDOT’s website. Applications are submitted online, and a sample PDF application is available for reference.
