The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks announced free fishing and free state park entrance days across the state. This gives Kansans several opportunities to enjoy the outdoors at no cost.
According to KDWP, Free Fishing Days are scheduled for Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7. On those dates, anglers may fish in Kansas public waters without purchasing a state fishing license. All other regulations will remain in effect, including length and creel limits and other established fishing rules.
In addition, all 28 Kansas state parks will waive vehicle entrance fees on Wednesday, April 22. While entrance fees will be free that day, camping fees and other associated charges will still apply.
Several additional Free Entrance Days are planned from April through October, many aligning with special events and programs designed to encourage more visitors to explore Kansas state parks.
State officials say the annual initiative aims to introduce new visitors to outdoor recreation opportunities while giving longtime park users another reason to plan a trip.
