DCCCA announced that Kim Freese has joined the organization as Chief Behavioral Health Officer. Freese brings extensive experience in mental health, addiction services, and public policy at local, state, and national levels. She served 10 years as Region VII Director for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), supporting providers across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska.
In Kansas, she worked on Medicaid privatization, policy development, program management, and addiction services, overseeing block grants and collaborating with providers and funders. Freese’s advocacy earned her the 2024 Champion of Recovery & Mental Health Advocacy Award. DCCCA looks forward to her leadership and expertise in advancing its mission to improve the safety, health, and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
DCCCA is a Kansas-based nonprofit that provides human services to improve the safety, health, and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Its programs include behavioral health and addiction treatment, mental health services, foster care and adoption support, family preservation, and community prevention efforts.
