Kansas State Wildcats track and field junior Vienna Lahner set a school record in the women’s 1,000 meters Friday at the Steve Miller Invitational at Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track.
Lahner won the event in 2:44.33, a personal best and just ahead of the previous record of 2:44.89 set in 2020. She now holds two indoor school records, adding the 1,000 meters mark to her mile record set in January.
Senior Monique Hardy posted a season-best 22.12 meters in the weight throw, a mark that ranks No. 10 nationally and qualifies her for nationals.
The men’s 4×400 relay team moved to No. 3 on the school’s indoor list with a time of 3:05.96. Freshman Mattix DaCunha recorded the fifth-fastest 60-meter hurdles time in school history at 7.88 seconds.
K-State opens postseason competition at the Big 12 Championship on Feb. 27-28 in Lubbock.
