Late Free Throws Lift Oklahoma State Past K-State

K-State’s comeback bid fell short Saturday night as Oklahoma State edged the Wildcats 84-83 in Stillwater on three free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining.

K-State led 83-81 after P.J. Haggerty’s jumper with 49 seconds left. Oklahoma State missed two late 3-point attempts but kept the possession with offensive rebounds. Vyctorius Miller was fouled in the corner and made all three free throws to give the Cowboys the lead. Haggerty’s final 3-point try at the buzzer was off the mark.

The Wildcats fell to 9-9 overall and 0-5 in Big 12 play, their first such start since the league began in 1996-97. Oklahoma State improved to 14-4 and 2-3.

Haggerty led K-State with 21 points, eight rebounds and four 3-pointers while playing all 40 minutes. Abdi Bashir Jr. added 15 points, with Nate Johnson and Khamari McGriff scoring 14 each.
