Little River Overpowers Wakefield in Girls Basketball Matchup

The Wakefield Bombers girls basketball team faced a tough challenge Friday night (12/20), falling to the visiting Little River Redskins in a home conference game. Little River dominated from the start, securing a 69-26 victory.

The Redskins set the tone early, scoring 27 points in the first quarter while holding Wakefield to six. They extended their lead with a 21-point second quarter, heading into halftime with a commanding 48-10 advantage.

Wakefield showed improvement in the second half, scoring seven points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. However, Little River’s strong defense and consistent scoring proved insurmountable for the Bombers.

With the win, Little River improves to 5-0 on the season, continuing their undefeated run. Wakefield’s record moves to 3-3 as they look to rebound in their next contest.

The Bombers will aim to bounce back in their upcoming game, scheduled for Friday, December 27, against a district opponent.
