LMH Health has been recognized by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) as a Blue Distinction® Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, a designation awarded to facilities that demonstrate exceptional quality and patient safety.
Blue Distinction® Centers must meet rigorous criteria established through a collaboration between the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Facilities with this designation typically see 21% fewer complications and readmissions within 90 days of surgery compared to non-designated centers.
Dr. Adam Goodyear, orthopedic surgeon at OrthoKansas and LMH Health vice chief of staff, credited the entire OrthoKansas and LMH Health team for maintaining this recognition, emphasizing that patient-centered care is at the heart of their joint replacement program.
To earn the designation, facilities must be fully accredited, maintain low complication and readmission rates, follow enhanced recovery protocols, and participate in the BCBSKS BlueCard PPO Network.
This recognition reflects LMH Health’s commitment to delivering high-quality care and staying at the forefront of advancements in knee and hip replacement surgery.
