Lowen Corporation Honored with Ad Astra Award for Contributions to Kansas Economy and Community

Each year, the Chamber recognizes a Kansas company with the Ad Astra Award during its annual dinner. This award honors a business for its contributions to Kansas’ economy and well-being, highlighting both business and civic excellence.

Lowen Corporation, a family-owned business for over 70 years, provides graphic solutions for branding, advertising, and display. Founded in 1950 by C.W. “Mike” Lowen, the company started with a focus on hand-painted signs. Over the decades, Lowen has built a strong reputation for reliability, top-quality work, and excellent customer value.

Today, Lowen operates four divisions in over 325,000 square feet of space and is a leader in signage and graphics, with one of the largest digital and screen-print operations in the country. The company employs nearly 400 people, most with over 10 years of experience.

Looking ahead, Lowen is committed to growth and community support. They contribute to local initiatives such as the Kansas State Fair, HutchFest, and support for Hutchinson Community College, local schools, youth sports, and several local organizations.
