Mahomes Opens Up the Deep Game as Chiefs Begin Camp

By Jayson Henderson

The Chiefs wrapped up their first week of training camp in St. Joseph with four practices and plenty to watch as they gear up for another title run.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has leaned into the deep ball early, connecting on long throws to Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, and Noah Gray. He’s shown chemistry with new receivers and continued to throw off-platform and on the move.

Newcomers are already making their mark. Rookie safety Major Williams and cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace each had pass breakups during team drills. On offense, rookie wideouts Jalen Royals and Xavier Worthy have been involved early, while Tyquan Thornton has stretched the field with his speed.

Even in the early stages, competition is taking shape as the Chiefs begin laying the foundation for another championship season.
