Manhattan Stabbing Leaves One Dead; Suspect Arrested on Second-Degree Murder Charge

The Riley County Police Department released that on February 1, at approximately 8:11 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Anderson Avenue in Manhattan for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old Manhattan man suffering from a stab wound. He was transported by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A 39-year-old Manhattan man was detained at the scene. Following an investigation, he was arrested for second-degree murder at approximately 1:00 a.m. on February 2. He was issued a total bond of $1,000,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this release.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are being released at this time.
