Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. released a video Monday touting the benefits of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping piece of legislation he says will impact every Kansas family. The bill, which passed the House last month and is now before the Senate, is expected to receive a vote this week.
Marshall described the measure as a major win for Kansans, claiming it prevents what would have been the largest tax increase in U.S. history. Key provisions include making the 2017 Trump-era tax cuts permanent, expanding the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child, and creating a $1,000 federal savings account for each child born after January 1, 2024.
The bill also includes tax relief on tips and overtime pay, support for small businesses and seniors, and an extension of the paid family and medical leave tax credit. Marshall said the legislation cuts $2 trillion in federal spending over the next decade while investing in border security, defense, and Medicaid.
