K-State sophomore Riley Marx earned Second Team All-America honors with an 11th place finish in the javelin throw at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday (June 11) in Eugene, Oregon. Marx threw 70.71 meters (232 feet), marking his fourth throw over 70 meters this season. He now holds the No. 2 spot in K-State history with a 72.58m personal best.
Senior Emil Uhlin opened the men’s decathlon, finishing day one in 17th place with 3,897 points. Uhlin recorded personal bests in the 100-meter dash (11.01 seconds) and 400 meters (48.85), while also placing top-10 in the shot put and high jump.
