In the wake of last Sunday’s tornado, Memorial Day services took on special meaning at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Grinnell, Kansas. The cemetery, located on the town’s north side, was heavily damaged in the storm. Reporter Chad Wolf spoke to U.S. Senator Jerry Moran as he joined community members at the service to honor fallen heroes and reflect on the resilience of the town.

“It is a pleasure for me to be here during a really challenging time for the people in Grinnell,” said Sen. Moran. “Every little town has its challenges and a storm like this just makes things much more difficult.”

Sen. Moran praised the community for coming together to clean up the cemetery and honor those who served, especially during such a difficult time. He said the experience was inspiring, highlighting the strength and dedication of the people in Kansas who care deeply about their town and its history.

“It gives me inspiration about the kind of people that live here and work here, raise their families here and care about their hometown,” said Moran.
