Missouri Tops K-State in High-Scoring Exhibition

Kansas State fell 100-91 to Missouri in its first exhibition game Friday night in Columbia. Junior P.J. Haggerty led all scorers with 23 points and six assists, while senior Nate Johnson added 14 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.

Missouri shot 54.8 percent from the field and outscored K-State 54-44 in the paint. Anthony Robinson II and Jayden Stone each scored 16 points for the Tigers, who used a 14-0 first-half run to take control.

K-State stayed close early in the second half but couldn’t slow Missouri’s offense, which built a 19-point lead with eight minutes left. The Wildcats shot 49.3 percent from the field and got 35 bench points, including seven from junior Elias Rapieque.

K-State will close exhibition play Friday, Oct. 31, at home against Division II Newman before opening the regular season in November.
