Mother-Son Dance planned for Feb. 15

A Mother-Son Dance will be held from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on February 15 at the St Peter & Paul Parish Hall. Event Organizer Ashlee Wallace said for those families with only sons the Catholic Women’s Organization wanted to give them a special night out with their moms.

“It’s kind of mimicking a daddy-daughter dance but for some of us women who don’t have any daughters, we thought this would be a fun alternative,” Wallace said.

There will be a photo booth with a photographer, yard games including a giant Connect 4 and tic-tac-toe board played with bean bags, and plenty of drinks and snack for when party goers aren’t on the dance floor. The theme for the event is Bows and Blue Jeans and that gives a hint at the dress code as well.

“We’re not going to make the boys dress up, but they might think it’s cute if their mom dresses up. Or if their mom just wants to be casual that’s fine as well,” she said.

The whole community is invited. Tickets are $5 for mother and son and $2 per additional child and registration beforehand is not required. Wallace said proceeds from the dance will be used to fund church improvements and family life enrichment programs.
