Myers Earns Region Honor, LeGrand Also Named All-Region

Kansas State senior Shaylee Myers was named AVCA Central Region Player of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to receive the honor. Senior Ava LeGrand joined Myers on the All-Central Region First Team, the AVCA announced Tuesday.

Myers was the only Big 12 player to earn Player of the Year recognition. She finished her senior season with 498 kills and 547 points, setting school records in the rally-scoring era. Myers also recorded a program-record 34 kills in a match against West Virginia and reached 1,000 career kills during the NCAA Tournament.

LeGrand earned her first All-Region honor after a strong senior season. She totaled 1,063 assists, 337 digs, 87 kills and a team-high 32 service aces. She led the Wildcats with 17 double-doubles and surpassed 1,000 assists for the first time.

K-State finished the season 18-10 and made an NCAA Tournament appearance.
